LOCAL ACCOMMODATIONS

General Accommodation Details:

There are many hotels in every price range in the city and suburbs of Chicago. We've reserved a block of rooms in two in the suburbs, both of which are located not too far from O'Hare and Midway airports and the KLM Lodge. Of course, additional reservations at different hotels can be made on www.travelocity.com, www.orbitz.com, and numerous other websites.

Suburbs centrally located between O'Hare, Midway, downtown Chicago, and most importantly, the Katherine Legge Lodge, include: Oak Brook, Hinsdale, and Westmont. Otherwise, please read on for prearranged accommodation information.

In addition to amenities like a fitness center and an on-site Budget car rental facility, they also offer a free shuttle to KLM Lodge (or to anywhere within 7 miles) before 11 PM.

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS

  Traveling by Air:

O'Hare and Midway are the two major airports in the Chicago area. O'Hare is northwest of the city and is serviced by most of the major carriers (United, American); Midway is southwest of the city and is serviced by many of the low-cost carriers (JetBlue, Southwest). To find low-cost airfare, we recommend www.travelocity.com or www.orbitz.com, two travel websites.

  Traveling by Train:

Amtrak's main Chicago-area station is Union Station, located in downtown Chicago. To book a ticket, go to www.amtrak.com.

  Traveling by Car:

There are several major expressways and tollways that go in and around Chicago. For specific driving directions, try www.mapquest.com. We recommend trying to avoid arriving or leaving Chicagoland during rush hour (roughly 7 AM-9:30 AM and 4 PM-6:30 PM) because the traffic here was recently rated #2 worst in the nation. Need we say more?!

  RENTAL CAR ARRANGEMENTS:

You can find rental agencies all over the Chicago area, and most have locations at O'Hare and Midway airports. Plus the Wyndham Drake hotel has an on-site Buget car rental facility.
